Product Description

Medium-sized dark green heads. The plant will continue producing side shoots for several weeks after the main flower head is cut. Very nutritious. Very tender. Slow bolting.

Green Sprouting Calabrese' is an old standard variety that has been a mainstay in many people's gardens year in and year out. This is partly because it does not mature uniformly and partly because it produces many side shoots. Perfect for the home garden, fresh use.

The plants grow tall (thirty to thirty-six inches), erect and leafy. They produce central heads that are bluish-green in colour and average from three to five inches across. If planted early in the spring, the main head can be harvested in the summer, the plants laid down, and side shoots harvested for continuing weeks. Frost resistant.

Good variety for sprouts.
