Product Description

Heirloom. Annual growing to 50cm with fragrant green leaves and pink flowers. It is similar in smell to lemon basil but not closely related, instead is more closely related to sweet basil. Leaves have a strong lemon and lime flavour that is ideal to use in salads, rice dishes, soups, stews and teas and desserts. Can be grown in containers. Can be used in potpourri. Is more heat tolerant than regular basil. Has good disease resistance. Also known as "Lime Basil".  The variety has the strongest lemon scent and flavour of all the lemon basils, and also has undertones of cinnamon and mint and hints of spice along with a strong floral note. Slow to bolt, tolerates heat and drought well.
